Rise p/b Rapha DC, an elite women's racing team based in Washington DC is raising funds for the Carlos Rosario School

Funds raised will support immigrant students that have been economically impacted by COVID-19. One of the team's members is a Carlos Rosario School teacher, Lindsey Crifasi!

The team's goal is to raise $1,000 for the Carlos Rosario Schools 'Student Emergency Fund' to help alleviate food and income insecurity by providing students with gift cards for groceries, personal hygiene products, and other basic essentials for those with urgent needs.

Everyone is invited to join. Ride 20 miles/donate $20. Most importantly, lend your support to students in need!

As tubeless becomes more common for road, mountain, and gravel bicycles, having a solid knowledge base in set up, compatibilities, and preparedness will help you navigate what can seem like a complicated landscape. Beat The Heat

Beat The Heat

Join District Cycle Works this Sunday morning as we host a road ride from the shop to Kensington, Maryland, and back. We will end the morning at Cafe 2622 for refreshments and recap unless the group decides otherwise during the ride 🚲

We will be looking to hold a 16-17mph, “conversational” pace. Understanding heat will be a factor, we may make adjustments to pace and route in the interest of the group.

It's going to be VERY HOT.  We ask that everyone keep their own heat threshold in mind.  For personal safety, if you don't do well in the heat, the day might be better spent on the trainer.

While we will do our best to accomodate everyone, we ask you come ready with everything you will need for 3+ hours on the bicycle (nutrition, tire and tube repair, fully charged electronics.) There is a map of the route below for you to bookmark and download to your Wahoo, Garmin, and/or iPhone to ensure you are able to find your way back if you get separated from the group. If you need assistance doing so please let us know.

Also, WATER!  We recommend bringing TWO full bottles for this ride, and ideally with electrolytes.  You might also consider brining an extra frozen bottle for your jersey if you tend to be on the thirstier side.
